Chamber of Commerce

Two significant battles during the Plains Indian Wars were located in Ranchester Wyoming. 63 men, women, and children were killed, responsible for their deaths is General Patrick E. Connor. He was an agressive anti-Indian commander at Fort Laramie. Peace movements in the east had prevented Connor from killing "all male Indians over the age of 12."
